It is showtime once again for one of Food Network’s most delightful holiday baking competitions.

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, for the Henson Hotel was forced to shut its doors, but the Henson & Sons Carnival is just rolling into town. The Halloween Baking Championship has risen from the dead with a complete carnival re-brand and a new lineup of spooky bakes for Season 9.

Of course, the ritual wouldn’t be complete without our honourable host and reliable accomplice, Jon Henson. His goal this season is to revive his family’s fifth-generation carnival with new haunts and horrors for 12 unsuspecting bakers.

As the story goes, each baker will have to fight for their life to bake the most imaginable delicious and creepy deserts for judges Carla Hall, Stephanie Boswell and Zac Young.

The new season will feature a beautiful balance of tragic carny backstories, wholesome personalities, and the most whimsical, spooky treats.

Halloween Baking Championship will kick off with a two-hour premiere and a request for the bakers to create a tarot-misu “depicting the carnival’s demise.”

Season Description: Host John Henson is the last carny standing at the Henson & Sons Carnival, and he has a demented dream — bring the carnival back to life in the most unlikely way. He invites 12 talented bakers to the carnival grounds to impress judges Carla Hall, Stephanie Boswell and Zac Young with tasty treats that honour its disturbing past.

With an incurable sweet tooth and plenty of mysteriously missing and murdered family members, John’s dark vision to resuscitate the family business knows no bounds. A dozen of America’s best bakers will try to turn this decaying wreck of a carnival into a thriving, fun zone in hopes of being crowned Halloween Baking Champion.

The killer festivities begin on September 11th at 9/8c on Food Network.
