Anne Rice’s Interview with The Vampire pulls back the curtain on Season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con with show-stopping promotional cast posters and an in-depth first look at the new season.

But what is the meaning of these theatrics? Well, to open the doors to the ThéÒtre des Vampires, of course.

As Louis de Pointe du Lac and Claudia flee triumphantly to Paris, they stumble into the company of an undead theatre company that brings the city to life at night with thrilling performances and no shortage of backstage horrors. With a new cult of vampires waiting in the wings to introduce themselves to our two American fledglings, familiar faces materialize out of the darkness.

In the present day, Daniel Molloy sits down to dinner with Louis. This time they are joined by Armand, who has his own sins to confess now that we know his true identity. As Louis leaves behind New Orleans for the streets of Paris, fans get their first look at the mysterious love interest as Armand sweeps Louis into the thralls of his eccentric cult.

We also get our first look at Claudia’s recasting as Delainey Hayles takes the stage. With her chilling stare and disarmingly adorable Paris fashion, the actress gives the impression her performance will be a hit. Sadly, Louis and Claudia’s attempts to forget their past will be thwarted when it is revealed that the theatre they came to for answers is owned by Lestat de Lioncourt.

Louis’ tortured expression in the wake of this reveal suggests he is still caught in the clutches of his former lover.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2024 (and until the AMPTP is willing to strike a fair deal with writers and actors) to see what awaits our loveable vamps in France. However, it’s nice to have a few sneak peeks to sink our teeth into.
